Prof Umezinwa, Others Honoured as ANIM Fellows

The Vice-Chancellor of Peter University, Achina/Onneh, Chukwuemenam Emmanuel Umezinwa, has become a fellow of the Association of Nigerian Musicologists (FANIM).

He was one of those honoured with the laurel during the annual conference of the Association on-going at Ignatius Ajuru University of Education, Port Hacourt, Rivers State.

Rev. Fr. Prof. Umezinwa received the fellowship award for his contributions to music scholarship in Nigeria.

He was honoured along with others.

Prof. Umezinwa, a Catholic priest, academic, and administrator, is a professor of ethnomusicology deeply versed in philosophy, musicology, education, religion and mass communication.
Before his current stead as Vice Chancellor of the Catholic citadel, Peter University, he has served as a lecturer and administrator and examiner in various institutions, including Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka.

He has made impactful contributions to society in the fields of philosophy, theology, and education.
Author of numerous articles published in leading journals and books on topics, comprising African philosophy, ethics, and intercultural dialogue, Umezinwa also anchors a largely followed regular weekly classical music broadcast program.

His body of intellectual works reflects his commitment to the intersection of faith, reason, and culture.

As a priest, he has also served in various pastoral roles, including as a resident priest and chaplain.

He is the founding Vice Chancellor of Peter University.
