Awka: Obiorah Anthony Ugwonwa
THE Managing Director, Anambra State Civic and Social Reformation Office (ANCISRO), Awka, Sir Chuka Nnabuife, has described the past three years of Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo’s administration in Anambra State as very remarkable, outstanding and historically momentous.
Sir Nnabuife made the assertion today in his office at Anambra State Government House, Awka, while fielding questions from press men on Governor Soludo’s past three years in office. He said that the globally renowned economics professor’s governance model and administration style stand out with very peculiar traits within the time under review.
Nnabuife noted that Soludo’s era has been characterized by phenomenal developments that even naysayers acknowledge. “Ndi-Anambra,” he reasoned, “can only thank God for having a focused and keen helmsman like Soludo on stead in this kind of time.”
The Managing Director, who stated that the people of the state had an opportunity to have Soludo for three years as their Governor, because of God’s love for the state that is the ‘Light of the Nation’ prayed that the people will give Soludo a second term as their Governor.
He however added that the government of Soludo does not come to Ndi-Anambra as a surprise package because the people know his pedigree and natural tendency for excellence.
Nnabuife commended the Governor’s high level of commitment to work, humanity and kindness, pointing out that he had within three years shown a voracious appetite to people-oriented initiatives in the state. Some of which his peers in other states compare notes on.
According to him, Soludo’s ‘Solution Government’ has demonstrated greater feats on infrastructural development, qualitative roads, development networks and policies, opining that the present government in the state under Soludo has recorded over thirty different development policies for the state, including establishment of new institutions of which ANSICRO is one of them.
Sir, Nnabuife, an author of seven books, fellow of the Nigerian Guild of Editors as well as fellow of the Society of Nigerian Artists is a veteran journalist. He noted that if Soludo’s had gone the way of some erstwhile governors, he would have stayed in office for eight years without employing even one hundred young people.
“Through direct and indirect employments, you can count those employed or gainfully engaged by Governor Soludo’s administration.
“Over ten thousand youths have been so engaged, directly or indirectly either through the ‘One Youth Two Skills Solution’ program of the Solution government. Another set of such number is warming up for third phase of the youth empowerment which is now recruiting,” the ANCISRO helmsman echoed.
The Managing Director, who spoke on the Anambra State government, among other things, noted that reward for a job well done when it comes to government is more work, saying that the best thing Ndi-Anambra will do is to give the Governor Soludo the chance for a second tenure. as one of the ways of thanking him for a “job well done” during his first four years in office.
