Fans, Family Fete Singer, Scholar, Buchi @ 60

NIGERIA’S reggae gospel kingpin Buchi Atuonwu will be 60 June 24, 2024 and there’s plan to let loose.

His family, friends and fans are planning so big for this landmark in the life of the DJ, poet, author and academic who took the world by storm with the release of ‘it is well’

We gathered that on the 24, June, Buchi’s event centre, Kulture Yard will host his friends and family to a private birthday  party.

A close family source hinted that the family is taking Buchi @ 60 seriously.  A convergence of people from all over the nation in his honour will hold in Lagos for the event.

Buchi was born in Kaduna to parents from Ikwuano Umuahia,  Abia State. He
attended Methodist College Uzuakoli and Federal Government College, Enugu.

He later gained admission into University of Lagos in 1983 where he obtained a bachelor’s degree in English Language and Literary Studies in three years. By 1988, he obtained a second degree and took up an appointment to lecture at the same institution while studying for his Ph.D.

Buchi continued in University of Lagos as a lecturer until 1994 when he began actively writing fiction, poetry and music. He also presents broadcast programs on radio.
