Peter Varsity First-year Student Creates Website

A first year student of Peter University, Achina/Onneh in Anambra State has created a new website.
The student, Chiagbaizu Charles Chinagorom, created website, https://tandyskitchen as a 100 level student in the Software Engineering department of the university.
According to Mr. Chiagbaizu, he created the site for general information as well as learning and project execution purposes.
Very interactive, the website, which has special sections for information on such areas as inquiries, cuisine, home, general and specialised information among others is available for public use.
Now in his sophomore year of study, Chiagbaizu said he felt a need to use his knowledge to fulfill a vital need he identified in society.
Peter University Achina/Onneh is a new citadel established by the Catholic Church with 24 departments and four faculties, all approved by Nigeria’s National University Commission (NUC) and respective professional bodies.
The new university notably presents itself as an institution that favours innovative approach in tertiary school education and academic research.
In the university, new information technology is inculcated in all courses whether in the faculties of the arts, sciences or legal studies as well as departments in nursing, computer and engineering studies.
While speaking during the last matriculation ceremony of the university recently, Bishop of Catholic Diocese of Ekwulobia, Peter Cardinal, Okpaleke emphasised the need for Nigerian universities to aspire consciously to provide solutions to the plethora of challenges facing the African society. He said that Peter University has come to offer such positively impactful education. Hence it’s peculiar socially relevant, ethically robust regime of study.
The university, recently completed the laying of fiber optic cables and mounted a 35-metre high mast for all-day Internet access within the campus.
According to Vice Chancellor of Peter University, Rev (Fr.) Prof. Chukwuemenam Emmanuel Umezinwa, IT and new technology prowess are vital requirements for students in the always serene citadel.
