Day Atani Community Stood Still For Anambra Assembly Speaker, Information Commissioner

People of Atani, the headquarter of Ogbaru Local Government Area, Anambra State, on Saturday, April 12, 2024, at a heroic homecoming ceremony, stood still for their two illustrious sons, Rt. Hon. Somtochukwu Udeze and Sir Paul Nwosu, the Speaker of Anambra State House of Assembly and Commissioner for Information, respectively.

The Speaker and the Commissioner were treated to a grand reception organized by the Atani Town Union at Central School, Atani, in solidarity and appreciation for their good works in government which have continued to make the community proud.

The occasion was also organized to thank the Governor of Anambra State, Prof Chukwuma Charles Soludo CFR for giving their sons the opportunity to serve in government.

Among the dignitaries that  attended the event were members of Anambra State Executive Council, member of the Federal House of Representatives, Afam Ogene, members of the state House of Assembly, 10 traditional rulers, various age grades and major All Progressives Grand Alliance(APGA) stakeholders  in Ogbaru.

Speaking at the occasion, the Governor of Anambra State, Prof Chukwuma Soludo, who was ably represented by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Prof Solo Chukwulobelu described Udeze and Nwosu as politicians who have distinguished themselves through rendering selfless services to the state.

He extolled the expedient way Speaker Udeze has presided over the House since he took over.

According to him, this was why he was elected the Speaker based on his experience as a ranking member.

Prof Chukwulobelu described the Information Commissioner, Sir Nwosu as a gentleman, adding that he has worked with him for 10 years and he is very diligent at his work.

He called on Ndị Atani to reciprocate Governor Soludo’s generosity to the community by voting massively for him when the election season comes.

The Speaker of Anambra State House of Assembly, Rt  Hon Somtochukwu Udeze, in his remarks, appreciated the traditional ruler of Atani and the town union for the recognition and assured that he will not disappoint them.

While reeling out numerous programs the government has successfully implemented, Udeze urged his people to take advantage of any of them, adding that they should come to him if they encounter challenges.

Also in his own remarks, Commissioner Nwosu thanked his people for celebrating him, even as he told the audience that the only way to reward the governor who gave him the appointment is to massively vote him into office for a second tenure.

Earlier, the traditional ruler of Atani, Igwe Augustine Azuka Ngoddy observed that the Speaker and Commissioner are good ambassadors of the town and that their exploits will pave way for other people in the community.

In his welcome address, the President General, Atani Town Union (ATU), Comrade Arinzechukwu Nzeli reminded the youths of the value in hardwork, pointing out that Udeze and Nwosu attained their various heights through hard work, personal efforts and strong indomitable spirit of Atani.

The chairman of the event’s planning committee, Comrade Casmir Obiesie Izukanne appreciated the commitment of their two illustrious sons to the growth and development of the state.
